"This is a special issue, focusing on the UN Convention on the International Effects of Judicial Sales of Ships."
Ann Fenech, Head of the Marine Litigation Department, was invited to contribute the Editorial to the Journal of International Maritime Law Volume 28, Issue 6. This is a special issue, focusing on the UN Convention on the International Effects of Judicial Sales of Ships.
The Editorial deals with the efforts behind the original CMI draft brought to the attention of UNCITRAL, the efforts undertaken in working group V1 of UNICTRAL, culminating in the adoption of the Convention by the General Assembly of the United Nations on the 7th of December 2022 and the very real need for the Convention.
