Peter Grima, Senior Associate in the Ship Finance department at Fenech & Fenech Advocates, writes an article commemorating the 50^th anniversary of Malta’s Merchant Shipping Act and provides a historical account of the invaluable contributions of the late Dr. Joe Fenech, that were pivotal to the introduction of landmark amendments to the Act in 1988.

The article goes on to mention other key infrastructure developments that were commissioned during this period on Dr. Fenech’s initiative, each of which had a significant impact on Malta’s rise as an international maritime centre.
