Daniel-Luc Farrugia, Associate within the Marine Litigation Department, was invited to contribute to a panel discussion on the EU Emission Trading System hosted by WISTA Turkiye on April 19th in Istanbul.

During the discussion, Daniel-Luc shared his views on the new challenges faced by the shipping industry as compliance with EU ETS transitions from preparation to implementation. He explained that the primary complexity lies in identifying which entity should be considered the ‘shipping company’ and, once identified, determining which administering authority it should be attributed to.

Daniel-Luc was joined on the panel by Andreas Chrysostomou, Maria Theodoridou, Morgane Querel, Ali Ibrahim Kontaytekin, Katalin Dobránszky-Bartus and Cihan Ergenc.
