F&F at the Marine Money Greek Ship Forum

Charlotte Spiteri attended the 19th Annual Marine Money Greek Ship Finance Forum which was held at the Athens Hilton on 17th October 2017. The Forum drew the attention of worldwide financiers and ship owners which are interested in securing finance and driving the shipping industry to the next level.

This year’s Forum commenced with an overview of the Greek Ship finance market between 1987 and 2017. It delved into alternative financing for Greek shipowners primarily consisting of the Chinese financial leasing scheme and recourse to the capital markets as opposed to the traditional bank lending structures which are more akin to financing new buildings nowadays.  Focus was also made on the economic sanctions which could hinder financing, counter party risks and cyber risks as well as sustainable business models for future shipping.

The forum concluded with a party hosted by Capital Product Partners L.P. at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium, which created the perfect setting to catch up with existing clients and introduce ourselves to new ones.
