Stephanie Farrugia

Stephanie is an Associate whose main areas of practice are ship registration and ship finance. She began her career at Fenech & Fenech Advocates in September 2020.
Following her graduation of Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta in 2012 she worked in Leipzig, Germany for a logistics company before moving back to Malta where she worked in corporate services, handling varying matters with regards to yachting services such as Malta flag registration.
Stephanie is involved with transactions relating to the registration of vessels of varying types under the Malta flag. She liaises with the Registrar of Ships for any matter that may be required during the vessel’s registration under the Malta Flag which includes, lobbying on behalf of clients for any extensions or exemptions as may be required on technical matters during registration, the transfer of the vessel’s ownership, the renewal of registration certificates and the subsequent deletion of the vessel from the Registry when so requested.
Furthermore, as part of the Ship finance team Stephanie assists the relative parties in transactions involving the registration of mortgages, the drafting of mortgage narratives, deed of covenants and drafting of corporate review and release of legal opinion.
