Sarah Cannataci
Associate
Sarah is an Associate at Fenech & Fenech Advocates working within the firm’s Technology, Media and Telecoms Law (TMT) department.
Sarah started practicing in data protection, privacy and intellectual property in 2014, after which she joined the International Practice department at Fenech & Fenech Advocates in 2017.
Sarah obtained a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Malta in 2016, basing her research paper on the erosion of privacy by search engines and the Right to be Forgotten as envisaged within the General Data Protection Regulation. She qualified as a lawyer with a Masters in Advocacy in 2017 and was called to the Maltese bar in 2018.
As part of the Fenech and Fenech team, Sarah focuses primarily on privacy and data protection, particularly the interrelation of privacy within the sphere of information technology, and related industries such as gaming and telecommunications. Sarah assists clients on matters tied to trademarks, copyright, and design rights amongst other intellectual property issues. Furthermore, Sarah also advises on matters tied to product liability, pharmaceuticals and cultural heritage.
Sarah is an elected board member of the Malta IT Law Association (MITLA) and of Wirt iz-Zejtun, a non-governmental organisation dedicated to the preservation of cultural heritage in the south of Malta. She is also a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (iAPP) and a thesis examiner within the Faculty of Law at the University of Malta.
