Antonio Ghio, partner and head of the TMT Law department at Fenech & Fenech Advocates, has been unanimously re-elected to serve another term as President of MITLA.
Sarah Cannataci and Deo Falzon, associates within the TMT department, whose membership of MITLA dates back to their student days at University of Malta, were also elected to form part of the Executive Committee for the upcoming year. Dr Cannataci was elected to serve the role of Board Secretary of the Executive Committee, which role she has fulfilled since first being elected to the Executive Committee in 2019. Dr Falzon has been named as the ‘New Opportunities Lead’ for the year 2021.
MITLA, a non-governmental organisation, was set up in 2015 to promote the advancement and development of information technology law, as well as to create opportunities for the discussion and research on legal developments taking place globally with respect to ICT Law. Dr Ghio is also one of the founding members of MITLA.
The election, held during the virtual AGM held on Friday 29th January 2021, also saw the re-election of Dr Gege Gatt and Dr Karen Coppini, whilst Ing. Kenneth Terribile, Dr Sharon Xuereb, Mr Jonathan Spiteri and Ms Alexia Valenzia were elected as new members.
