Luca Amato, Senior Associate in the Corporate and Commercial Department, attended the CompLaw: FDI Regimes & Foreign Subsidies Regulation Conference in Brussels on 12 May 2026.

Hosted by Informa, the conference included keynote speeches by Damien Levie (Economic Security Adviser on trade and economic security to the European Commission), Agata Mazurkiewicz (Head of Unit at DG COMP, European Commission), and leading practitioners from top law firms including White & Case, Kirkland & Ellis, Clifford Chance, Akin Gump and Norton Rose Fulbright.

The conference covered the latest developments on FDI in the EU, including discussions on the proposed new EU FDI Screening Regulation and how different Member States regulate FDI domestically. It also explored how the obligations introduced under the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation are playing out in practice.
