This morning, 9^th of July 2020, in the application number 6/2011 FDP in the names J.E.M. Investments Limited vs Kummissarju tal-Artijiet, the Lands Authority was condemned to pay our client for land acquired by him in Wied Blandun, Fgura, Paola, the sum of €2,611,530.40c after Perit Frederick Valentino issued this valuation to the Lands Authority. The said Lands Authority and the Director of Public Works had appointed another architect who diminished the said valuation to circa €500,000. Our client filed an application before the Land Arbitration Board and the said Board confirmed that once the property was even worth more than that stipulated by Perit Frederick Valentino, our client’s claim for the payment of the said amount due was to be accepted by the said Board. The Lands Authority was not pleased with the outcome of the said judgement and appealed before the Court of Appeal which confirmed the said judgement of the Land Arbitration Board of the 17^th February 2016, with costs.
