Ann Fenech, Head of our Marine Litigation Department, yesterday updated the IBA Maritime and Transport Law Committee in Cape Town at its conference bearing the title “The Cape of Storms” – on the progress of the UN Convention on the international effects of Judicial Sales of ships which came into force on the 17th February 2026.

The Programme of the Conference focused on current hot topics in maritime and transport law ranging from the sudden current scenario faced by international shipping in the gulf and the changes in war risks insurance to arrest and enforcement, decarbonisation and cybersecurity.
