Ann Fenech, Partner & Head of our Marine Litigation Department, gave a presentation on Cybersecurity and Commercial Shipping last week at a Seminar organised by the Politecnico di Torino and the University of Malta, co-funded by the European Union.

She spoke of the alarming increases of cyber attacks and how these could interfere with navigation, causing real threats to safety and security at sea and with loading and discharging operations of vessels. She highlighted the level of preparedness now required of shipping companies, management companies and crew on board ships and discussed the legal repercussions emanating from cyber-attacks on commercial shipping.
