Dr Fenech, Head of the Marine Litigation Department, addressed a celebration organised by the Malta Maritime Association (MMLA) on the occasion of its 30th year anniversary in her capacity as President of the Comite Maritime International and past President of the MMLA (2008-2022).

The event, which was strongly attended by the Maltese maritime legal community, was held on the 17th October at the Malta National Library in Valletta. It included a keynote speech by Hon Dr Chris Bonnett, Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works and a welcome address by the current President of the MMLA, Dr Matthew Attard. The panels covered the development of the Maltese legal framework and the future challenges to be tackled.

In her welcome address, Dr Fenech emphasised the contribution of various key players in the local maritime industry in the development of Malta’s shipping legislation and the collegiality demonstrated over the years by local practitioners in building and continuing to improve on Malta’s legislative framework effecting the shipping and international maritime industry.
