The Maltese authorities have published new Guidelines relating to the place of supply of the hiring of pleasure yachts which clarify the manner in which the use and enjoyment of pleasure yachts is to be taxed. These Guidelines represent a welcome development for the yachting sector and may be availed of by owners within the context of attractive operational lease models based on fiscal, legal and financial considerations.
