On the 15 June 2021, Fenech & Fenech Advocates held its second webinar in the Fenech & Fenech Advocates Maritime Series – Talks with the Industry. This webinar focused on Covid-19 and the Cruise Line Industry
We were honoured to have amongst us, guest speakers Mr Domenico Ferrara, Legal director of MSC Cruise Management (UK) Ltd who discussed the challenges and effect of the pandemic on the cruise industry, Dr Michael Knauer, CEO of sea chefs Holding AG who spoke about the operational and crewing challenges faced by the industry during the pandemic, and Mr Stephen Xuereb, CEO of Valletta Cruise Port plc who discussed how the pandemic affected port operations in Malta and in various ports across the continents..
Dr Mark Fenech, Partner in the Ship Finance Department at Fenech & Fenech discussed the impact of the virus on ship financing trends and Dr Ann Fenech, Partner in the Marine Litigation Department relayed her experiences related to litigation involving the cruise industry during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Dr Martina Farrugia, Associate in the Marine Litigation Department, moderated the event.
