Dr Ann Fenech presents CMI prize at IMLI

15th June 2017 – Dr. Ann Fenech, Managing Partner of Fenech & Fenech Advocates and  executive council member of the Comite’ Maritime International (CMI), presented the CMI prize to  Miss Maria Fernanda Campos Lopes Soares from Brazil  during the IMO International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI) 28th Annual Graduation Ceremony which was held on Saturday 27 May 2017 at the Malta Maritime Museum, Vittoriosa.

The Comite’ Maritime  International is a non-governmental, non-profit international organization established in Antwerp in 1897, the object of which is to contribute by all appropriate means and activities to the unification of maritime law in all its aspects. The CMI is responsible for drafting the majority of international maritime conventions and promotes the establishment of national associations of maritime law.

Dr. Fenech is one of the 13 executive councillors on the Executive Council of  the CMI and  is the only Maltese to ever sit on this council since its inception.  She chairs the CMI international working group on Ship Financing Security Practices and is also a member of the international working group on the Study Relating to Liability for Wrongful Arrest.
