Fenech and Fenech Advocates supports the Valletta Tech Summit by Tech.mt

The Valletta Tech Summit – IoT and beyond – that will take place virtually between the 27th and 28th of April.

The summit, organised by Tech.mt, aims to put Malta on the map when it comes to technology by inviting international and national speakers, exhibitors and attendees. Antonio Ghio, Partner leading the firm’s TMT and IP practice, was invited to participate in a panel discussion relating to the legal and ethical implications in IoT deployment on Thursday 28th April at 2pm.

Sarah Cannataci, guest lecturer at 21 Academy’s DPO Course

Dr Sarah Cannataci, associate within the Technology, Media & Telecommunications Department at Fenech & Fenech Advocates, was once again invited by 21 Academy to deliver two (2) sessions as part of the ‘Course for Data Protection Officers/Leads’. The Course, organised over five (5) session over the span of three (3) weeks, was aimed at training prospective or recently appointed Data Protection Officers (‘DPOs’) and Data Privacy Leads on how to adequately inform and advise the company they work in, in accordance with Regulation [EU] 2016/679 (the ‘GDPR’). The DPOs were also trained on the best ways to monitor the companies’ compliance with the GDPR, particularly vis-à-vis international data transfers and data breaches.
