On Friday 26th April 2019, Fenech & Fenech Advocates organised its annual Intellectual Property Law Forum.

The 2019 edition, held at the Salini Resort, attracted various participants from different industry sectors who spent a day with the TMT Law team at Fenech & Fenech and a wide array of distinguished speakers.

This year’s conference covered current and topical Intellectual Property Law issues, brought together under the theme of ‘Fuel: Food, Sports and Knowledge Exploitation’. This conference was also part of a host of events organised around the world to celebrate World Intellectual Property Day.

Together with Fenech & Fenech in-house speakers who delivered focused presentations on the latest legal developments in intellectual property, a number of roundtable discussions were also held covering the latest EU Copyright Directive, intellectual property in Sports, geographical indication of origin and IP in food & wines (moderated by Dr. Jeanine Rizzo, IP Law Consultant to Fenech & Fenech) as well as a discussion on knowledge transfer.

Guest speakers included Members of the European Parliament, representatives from the Intellectual Property Registrations Directorate and the Customs Authority, as well as, representatives and stakeholders from the food, sports and knowledge exploitation industry.
